Opti-Logic LH series hypsometer

The Opti-Logic Laser based Hypsometer/Rangefinder is the ideal instrument for forestry work or applications where both height and distance measurements are required. With an inclinometer and rangefinder built into the one small package the LH Series is not only one of the most versatile rangefinders available, but also the one of the least expensive.

Four separate modes determine distances, heights and angles. With the push of a button, the unit configures itself to measure in feet, yards or meters. Applications of vertical height measuring include tree height, construction, utilities, architectural measurements, landscaping, real estate appraisal, and much more. The system is ideal for applications where survey quality measurement is not required and high instrument cost is not justifiable.

Offering functionality normally only available on higher end instruments the LH Series only sacrifice was in accuracy, but with the introduction of the LHA series we can now offer the 100LHA and 400LHA with a typical accuracy of +/- 0.5 of a metre over the standard +/- 1 metre.

Operating the LH hypsometer is simple: first, the instrument is aimed at any reference point on the object and triggered. This action measures the distance from the origin, O, (the instrument location) to the reference point, A. Next the instrument is aimed at the top of the object, B, and triggered, then aimed and triggered at the base of the object, C. Using the total subtended angle between B and C, in addition to the distance to the object, the instrument automatically calculates and displays the height from points B to C.
